running valentine

spent valentine's working till 7pm before heading to the stadium for my interval training. at 828am, the carekeeper chased the remaining runners out. thank goodness i have completed what i set out to do. 4x1200m+400m recovery.

my gastrocnemius has been aching after yesterday noon's run. attributing it to the morning skipping routine that might have caused it. on top of that, i didn't fully stretch after skipping. so..erm. could feel it pull before the run yesterday night, yet i still managed through the sets. could still run to work this morning. i guess it's not THAT serious after all.

it'll be swimming lesson tonight. contemplating if i would still be able to jog off from jalan besar after the swim to say, coronation plaza. i need to clock 12.8km today.. keeping my fingers crossed...hopefully i won't be too exhausted after the swim..i'll try to do a 6km at least. adding that to the 3.5km to work.. 3.5km in the noon. that'll get me to the 13km i need to do.

finally getting a better hang of the arm coordination portion of freestyle. however, i think i got a long way to go in terms of correcting my pulling in..and of course, not forgetting my lousy kicking. been doing my dips to give my arms more strength so that i'll be able to execute the pulls with more power. i agree that to swim faster, it shouldn't be increasing the number of arm strokes i'm doing..it ought to be pulling harder to catch more water, so as to propell myself further. read from the forum that training the latissimus dorsi does help. will have to research abit on what kind of weights i can do to help that. mean time i'll just be doing more dips do train my triceps.

xphysique is this sunday. starting at 12nn (argh. warm!) i think it should end off at about 4-6pm. it'll be my first time racing with clarence and bryan (i haven't even met them before. they are kee leng's friends).. and my second race with afri. wish H5N1 good luck. was touching base with afri on the race.. in any case if we were to get stuck at the bottleneck, our take is to skip. rather than DNF-ing, we would rather suffer a time penalty. (think the experience at perak) the difference between now and perak probably would be that during perak, we had no choice to skip. the marshalls told us that we would be immediately DNF-ed if we skipped a station. who knows..we waited 1.5hrs at the abseil site.. abseiled down..and was still cut off, DNF-ed and ferried back on the truck. bleah.

i am really really hoping to find a team mate. someone i can race with. someone who isn't already in a team. not just a race-mate (afri is a race-mate).. but a TEAM mate. not too sure where to find one. saw a guy running and doing pull ups at cck stadium yesterday and gee, i was really tempted to ask him if he raced.

long day ahead, tricia. keep it going. 2 runs, stairs + swim. i can do it! =D
