dwanking

dearie did a recording when i was practising my pieces and it sounded dreadful. i think my control of the notes and tempo is horrendous. i do need alot more practise. the F sounds 'dwanky'. it just goes dwank dwank dwank.

i spent some time practising on wed evening. 1 hour passed quickly when i was making all that noise. somehow, i forgot i had a less-than-pleasant day at work during that hour.

in effort to find a part time job to utilise my time, i sent out 4 enquiries out to advertisers of part time positions. not a single one replied. i start to wonder did the positions fill so quickly? maybe the advertisers pick candidates on lucky draw basis? or are the ads bogus? (because i go to job sites every morning and i keep seeing same positions of the same company repeatedly advertised.) maybe they are too busy to entertain to my enquiries, because i have not attached my resume along with it. somehow i could identify the same thing with the applications i sent out for dearie. we have sent numerous through the months but hardly had any response.

what are we doing wrong here? hmm.

looking forward to the weekend. we need to rest. i want to run, bike, read, practise and try some new dishes.

Sometimes, it is first come first serve basis.
Once I applied for an IT job.
The interview is next day 9am.
They offered the job to a guy who came for the interview at 8am!
The interviewers were apologetic.

so that means i have to send out an application the very morning they post the ad and then go for the very first interview available and make an impression they can't refuse me the job. not that it will ensure i get the job, but at least that increases the probability of getting it? =P

sounds like the hiring manager of the company also not very professional la..

Just recalled...
There is another one.
The morning after my bike accident, I was supposed to have a job interview.
Cos of the accident, the interview
got postponed for a week.
Turned out they had already hired a guy with similar skillset during the one week's absence.
They din call off the interview, cos they din wanna disappoint me.

Both companies are well-known MNCs.

Probably, it just happens in the IT industry.

but isn't it more disappointing that you went for a position that was no longer vacant? abit like waste our time and the hiring manager's time too.

if i took leave to attend the interview i'll be quite upset lor. because they waste my leave!

how did u find out they hired someone? they told you after the interview?

Disappointment? A little.
I take every interview as a learning experience.
Prep me for my next interview.

First one, they told me upfront.

Second one, they told me after the interview.

A third one, I was told I was not suitable for the position, but we ended up chatting after the actual interview!
Another interesting interview. =D
